ABOUT ART VENTURES GALLERY
Art Ventures Gallery is located in beautiful downtown Menlo Park, California. The gallery showcases original artworks that challenge the tech world. Art Ventures hosts international artists-in-residency at its Half Moon Bay studios, working with artists who are not afraid to move in new directions, those who don’t cater to what’s popular, but have stories to tell. The gallery seeks to inspire its audience to reconsider what art can look like, and what it can achieve. Art Ventures owner, Katharina Powers, a Menlo Park Rotary Club member, sums up the gallery's philosohopy as, "Experiment, take risks, and push your art work forward."

Combating online misinformation
Jan. 19, 2022
Anahita Dalmia and her team at Alterea have been working on Agents of Influence, a spy-themed educational video game that teaches middle and high school students to combat online misinformation. The goal of their initiative is to equip the next generation with the skills and knowledge to identify reliable information so they can act responsibly in their personal, civic, and social lives. Their game raised $30,000 on Kickstarter, and has been featured with Cyber Civics, Media Literacy Now, Connected Learning, and the Department of Education’s Digital Literacy Accelerator. A short video of the game is available here: acy Accelerator. You can learn more about the game through a short video here: https://bit.ly/AoIKVideoF. |
