Rotary Club of Menlo Park Projects
The Rotary Club of Menlo Park stays active in our community by hosting various fundraising projects and activities throughout the year. We encourage you to come out and support our events -- all of our work benefits our community directly.
Scholastic Awards Ceremony May
The Rotary Club Foundation offers college scholarships to deserving seniors at local high schools. Also, four local high schools are provided an opportunity to recognize students with excellence awards in categories selected by each school such as math, science, sports, language, etc. These students along with scholarship winners are recognized at our annual Scholastic Awards Ceremony at the beautiful MA Performing Arts Center.
Special Olympics Lunches May
Each year Menlo Park Rotary partners with Sunnyvale Rotary in preparing approximately 900 lunches for the Special Olympics annual track and field event.
Community Garden
The Rotary Club of Menlo Park created a beautiful, vibrant community garden in the Belle Haven neighborhood of Menlo Park. With the hard work of the club's members, as well as in partnership with the community and donors, the Club transformed an abandoned lot into a thriving, verdant space. The garden contains 35 beds, 15 orchard trees, and a picnic space. The project was a true partnership, with the City of Menlo Park, nearby Facebook, Greenheart Land Developers, Lynsgo, Bavarian Nordic, Farmscape, and, of course, the Rotary Club, working together to bring the garden to reality. Over 30 families are able to grow their own, healthy food in the space and enjoy the park-like setting that the garden provides.
Tour de Menlo August
Cycling event offering 3 distances with a BBQ lunch provided at the end. Event starts and ends at MA High School with a portion of the proceeds supporting the Rotary Club's Foundation and College Scholarships. Over 500 riders participated last year.
